Paul and I always go overboard taking photos when we are travelling but in Tokyo we exceeded all our previous records. Tokyo is such a photogenic city; the combination of neon signs, dark alleyways lined with glowing red lanterns, crammed standing bars and manga billboards make every street corner a photo opportunity. Plus, it was our first overseas trip after purchasing our first DSLR camera which we were keen to try out. It was very difficult to sort through our photos and pick the ones we liked best and even more difficult for me to pick my top ten. I decided to pick my ten absolute favourite photos rather than a spread from different areas which is why my top 10 is quite Shibuya Crossing heavy (but let’s face it, you could never tire of capturing different perspectives of Shibuya Crossing). Here’s 10 photos from our time in Tokyo I really love.
Shibuya Crossing from above. Taken from the 25th floor of the Excel Hotel in Shibuya. Details of how to get there, in this blog post.
