Of all the things we’ve done in Berlin, which one of my favourite cities (maybe my favourite city?), visiting Teufelsberg is perhaps the coolest. Teufelsberg is a former US National Security Agency listening station that was used during the Cold War. It sits on top of a man made hill created from rubble left over from WW2. The station is now totally dilapidated and has been taken over by graffiti artists who have covered the station with their art. We did a tour led by a former US NSA worker who used to work there and his stories of listening out for communication from Russia was fascinating. Teufelsberg also offers fantastic views of Berlin.
Here’s my photo essay of Teufelsberg.
You can buy any of these prints of Teufelsberg as wall art from my Etsy Shop.
