Glencoe is one of the most beautiful places in Scotland, if not the most beautiful. The deep glen with mountains soaring into the air on either side is simply breathtaking. Even though I’ve been there a number of times I still feel a physical sense of awe each time I visit and see its dramatic landscape in person.
The magnitude of Glencoe and the surrounding Scottish Highlands is best viewed from the top of one of its mountains. But if you don’t fancy spending a day clambering to the top of a peak, I have a tip for you.
Get the ski lift.
You can get the ski lift from the bottom of Glencoe to the top of the mountain resort. It costs £10 and you don’t even have to go skiing.
The top of the lift has incredible views of the glen and the mountains surrounding it. You would be hard pressed to find a better view anywhere else in the world and you can experience it without breaking a sweat.
Sitting on the ski lift as it is hoisted into the air, legs dangling as it skims over the mountains is really cool too.
If you wander around Glencoe itself, you might run into these guys.
Aren’t they beautiful?
Glencoe is a magical place and the ski lift is such an easy way to see it in all its glory. It is definitely one of my top Scotland travel tips.
