One of my favourite neighbourhoods is Marseille’s Cours Julien. Wildly different from the glitz of the city’s centre port and the traditional charm of the Old Town, Cours Julien is a meeting place for the city’s hipsters and creatives. It has narrow lanes, acid bright street art, tattoo parlours and communal squares where locals meet to skateboard, play guitar and tuck into a bite to eat from one of the area’s hole in the wall food joints.
