What a strange week it has been here in Glasgow. For those of you who are not in the UK, here’s what happened:
Three days ago it started to snow. And snow. And snow.
Since Tuesday the entire country has been on lockdown. All the schools in Scotland have been closed. Most workplaces and shops have been closed (no snow day fun for me though, I can easily work from home). Public transport has stopped. Most hotel rooms are filled with those who are stranded. The sky has an eerie purple hue. My social media feeds are full of people talking being sent home from work, being stuck inside their house, and posting pictures of their cars buried under the snow.
There’s a kind of camaraderie when there’s heavy snow. Maybe it’s because everyone is united in the same experience. We are all at the mercy of a bigger power – the weather.
Paul went out yesterday and took some pictures of Glasgow’s snowmageddon.
