Her enigmatic smile and sideways glance has intrigued art lovers for hundreds of years. Over six million people flock to the Lourve in Paris every year to see the most famous subject in art history – the Mona Lisa.
We visited the Lourve on a weekday morning, got there as soon as it opened and basically ran to the Mona Lisa as quickly as we could but still the room was starting to get busy (tip – probably not a good idea to visit on a Saturday afternoon). Rather than study the painting itself (it’s an image I’d seen a million times in a frame behind bullet proof glass – how on earth could I view it with any objectivity? Plus, I’m no art expert) I enjoyed watching others react to the most famous painting in the world.
Here’s how we saw people react to the Mona Lisa.
